BOY SCOUT TROOP 200 A luminaria is a votive candle placed inside a paper bag weighted with sand. Luminarias are traditionally lit on Christmas Eve and Christmas day night to celebrate the season. Line them up along walkways, driveways and curbs for a beautiful soft glow of light. Novato Boy Scout Troop 200, a boy-run troop, has been making and selling beautiful luminarias for over 50 years to the Novato community, contributing to this well-cherished American tradition. This is our troop’s primary fundraiser, which helps fund program activities and service projects for the boys to learn leadership, outdoor and life skills which they use to give back to our community.
